The Grayson Origin Story
Audrey always had a love for the button-down. Her challenge, along with many of the women she knew, was finding a comfortable one without worrying about the gaping holes between buttons exposing unwanted cleavage (we’ve all been there). This issue along with the lousy buttons that refuse to stay in place and the unintentional cinches around the hips all led up to reinventing the perfect shirt designed for running errands-or the world. The brand’s founder, is also the woman behind cult luxury label, Frank & Eileen, known for its classics made from the finest fabrics woven at a family-owned mill in Italy — and even Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are superfans. Talk about a royal reputation.
When Audrey was 16, she worked at Gap and was fascinated by manufacturing and retail. She always knew she wanted to create something herself but wasn’t sure exactly what it would be. Pressured by her parents to study engineering, she felt the major didn’t suit her. In 2001, she decided to change the course of her life, packing up her things and moving to LA to get her first job in fashion. After five years of chasing down her dream fabric and bringing together a super-squad of 30 women, she created the perfect fitting button-down. Today, she has revolutionized a top for a new generation of leaders, pioneering the first-ever women’s “power” shirt.
