Why We Love Them

Life is stressful enough, and after a long day, the last thing you want to do is come home and be greeted by a complete mess. Open Spaces offers solutions to a problem that plagues almost everyone: how to get organized. While being organized may appear simple, for most people it’s a real struggle.

Origin Story

Open Spaces is the second brand from the masterminds of Pattern Brands. Formerly known as Gin Lane before a 2019 rebrand, the Open Spaces team had experience launching some of crowd-favorite brands like Sweetgreen and Everlane. They then decided to create their own brands and products based on the consumer needs that were not being met, and they launched their first brand, the cookware company Equal Parts, in 2019. With their sights set on another consumer issue, Pattern Brands started to unpack disorganization by speaking with consumers across the country to learn what stopped them from keeping their space organized. They learned quickly that people saw organizing as an all-consuming chore. Many expressed how disorganization creates feelings of stress and helplessness in their lives, sometimes even harming relationships with family members and loved ones. Pattern Brands decided to launch Open Spaces specifically to help people enjoy their space and find peace of mind at home. As home has increasingly become a space that needs to promote calmness and tranquility while serving multiple needs, Open Spaces and their experts help consumers achieve peace of mind through organization. Since having the right products is just the first step in creating the home you want, Open Spaces offers resources to help create and maintain an organized home in addition to their versatile products. They teamed up with organization experts to design an interactive 10-step guide filled with exercises you can do in all of your spaces. Customers can also connect with a professional organizer for virtual consultations to help transform disorganized chaos into a space of zen.
