House of Wise Review: CBD For Wise Women

The House of Wise Stress Gummies contain 15mg of full spectrum hemp derived CBD to promote calm and focus. These little guys also come loaded with 100mg L-theanine to boost the calming effects even higher than CBD alone. Each box comes with 10 individual gummy servings and all of their products contain less than 0.3% THC.

House of Wise was founded in 2020 (amid the pandemic) by Amanda Goetz. As a single mother of 3 working on propelling her high level marketing career, she fell into CBD as a way to help mitigate her stress. She knew that alcohol can have many negative side effects and had heard some great things about the positive benefits of CBD without the negative side effects.

Once she gave CBD a try, she found that life got a bit easier to manage. And she became more efficient on top of it all. So, the founder wanted to share her new found wealth with other badass women trying to do it all. Hence, the birth of the House of Wise brand.

I’ve tried quite a few different CBD products in the past, usually for stress. Some of them have worked better than others for me. As is typical of most CBD products, they aren’t all created the same and can have different effects for different people. That being said, I was interested to try a line of CBD that was created solely for women. Even though I wasn’t exactly sure what that meant.

Because most lines of CBD gummies I’ve run across do use gelatin, I typically go for CBD drops instead. I was happy to see that the HOW line of CBD gummies didn’t use gelatin, due to the fact that I’m a vegetarian. And since their line is also gluten free, this was an instant winning combination for me since I also happen to have Celiac. You would be surprised how difficult it can be to find products that meet both of those qualifications.

Therefore, I decided to try the House of Wise Sleep + Sex + Stress Gummy Trio so that I could fully test the range of gummies they were offering. This trio set costs $120 as a one time purchase (or $108 for a monthly subscription) for 10 servings of each of the aforementioned products.

Sex Gummies Experience

The first gummy I decided to try were the Sex Gummies. Individually, these are sold in a 10 count box for $49.99, or $44.99 for a monthly subscription.

The first thing that I noticed about these was how darn big the gummies were. This was a fairly big surprise to me. And due to how big the square gummies were, I had to bite each one into 2 or 3 bites. Which I can’t say I was that thrilled with because the flavor was unexpectedly horrible.

This particular gummy is supposed to be wild berry flavored, but I didn’t taste one iota of wild berry. I had such a hard time choking it down that I really had no desire to try one a second time. This first one I took about an hour prior to bed, in hopes that it would help counteract my sleepiness and perk me up for my spouse. But alas, nothing happened, even with the added combination of Horny Goat Weed, Maca, and Ashwagandha that’s in the gummy.

So, out of sheer determination to not give up after one try, I tried it again about a week later. This time I was able to tolerate the flavor a bit better because I chased it with a mixed drink. Unfortunately, I still didn’t notice any difference with regard to my libido though.

I decided to try it one last time about another week later. This time I took two because the brand says you can take up to 3 a day maximum. The hope was that maybe I needed a stronger dose. But that didn’t end up helping either because I got no results at all.

Since not all CBD works the same for everyone, my thought is that this particular product isn’t geared towards someone like me. Since I generally have a higher libido than most women my age anyway.

I decided to have a few friends try these gummies out to see if they got better results. Unfortunately, they didn’t do anything for anyone that I had try them. And out of all of the gummies, their flavor profile was by far the least palatable. So for me, this one was a bust.

Stress Gummies

The next product I tried were the Stress Gummies. These were priced the same as the sex gummies for the exact same amount of servings. I can’t say that I enjoyed the flavor of these either, but they were a little more palatable than the sex gummies. It may be due to the fact that the flavor profile was a bit lighter with a blend of the chamomile and passion fruit. But the hemp flavor still shines through and I’m simply not a fan of the flavor of hemp.

I took one in the morning and felt calmer all day. I tried another one a few days later and noticed a better stress response to things that would normally set me over the edge. So these I enjoyed (other than the flavor, which could still use some work) and I got better results than from the aforementioned sex gummies. It could be due to the combination of the L-Theanine and full spectrum CBD in these particular gummies.

I also had a few girlfriends try these out to see what their response was. These seemed to perform intermittently, depending upon the person. But they resoundingly had the best flavor profile of all 3 gummies.

Sleep Gummies

The last product I tried was the Sleep Gummies. These were the same price for a 10 count box as the sex gummies. Since I don’t generally have issues with sleep to begin with, I wasn’t sure how these were going to perform, even though they had 5mg of Melatonin in them also.

They were in between the flavor profiles of the other two, so semi-palatable but not really pleasant tasting. I didn’t notice any difference in my sleep patterns. But, I always sleep well to begin with so I’m not sure what they would have helped for me.

Therefore, I did have some friends (and my spouse) who have sleep issues try out these gummies to see what their thoughts were. The overall response was that these gummies definitely work well for those who have sleep issues. But they did not like the flavor at all. In fact, a couple of them that these gummies really worked for wouldn’t even take them a second time to help sleep because they disliked the flavor so profoundly.

My spouse was in this camp. These gummies helped his sleep tremendously, but due to the unappealing flavor and the high sugar content, he said he prefers drops instead.

And from my perspective, I wasn’t happy to see glucose syrup and sugar as the first two ingredients. Both are highly processed and regular white sugar isn’t vegan. Since they don’t list anything other than “sugar” I have to assume that’s what it is. The ingredient list touted a much higher level of sugar than I anticipated.

Therefore, my suggestions for a better product would be to reduce the amount of added sugar right off the bat. If they could add some essential oils for better flavor profiles and to assist with the specific function for each gummy, as well as to reduce how big the gummies are in size, they would probably have a stellar product.

House of Wise is one of the growing number of CBD companies that sources their CBD from organic hemp farms outside of Denver, Colorado. All of their CBD products are also made in the United States, which helps to reduce their overall carbon footprint.

All of their products are organic, vegetarian, gluten-free, cruelty-free, and aren’t tested on animals. They also have all 3rd party independent lab tests available on their website for each product. I was really happy to see this, as it speaks volumes about the overall quality of the products they are producing.

The one caveat is that I don’t see any certifications for the raw materials or the manufacturing plants. And in order to feel completely confident as to the quality of a product, these are things I’d like to see. Even without these though, it appears that House of Wise is intent on creating a high-level quality CBD product line.

When it comes to CBD products, there are so many options on the market now to choose from. But, I like the House of Wise marketing geared towards empowering women to live their highest and best lives. And the pricing is pretty middle of the road for CBD. While the concept is great, the flavor profiles just didn’t do it for me. In fact, if anything, they turned me off to the product.

But, that doesn’t mean that everyone will have the same reaction to these products. Everyone’s taste buds are a bit different, so the vast majority may find the flavor profiles appealing. I’m just not a fan of anything with a lot of sugar in it (especially if it sticks to my teeth like a gummy does) or the flavor of hemp. So, for someone like me, their CBD drops may be a better bet to try.

Don’t let that deter you from giving them a shot though. They have good pricing, good concepts, and a wide range of products to help with a few different common issues in modern society.

Ultimately, House of Wise CBD for women is a fantastic concept. I love that they include other naturally occurring sources in their products to help boost the effects. And the gummies may be more appealing to some consumers than drops are. If they could reduce the overall sugar content and boost the flavor profiles of the gummies, I would be more apt to give them another shot.

However, they do have other options for taking their CBD that may be more palatable to some of us. And the fact that they donate a portion of each sale to a fantastic non-profit only helps elevate their company in my opinion. So, if you’ve been looking for some other options to help get better sleep and sex, or reduce your stress, then they may just be worth a shot.
